ReturnPilot allows you to add products in bulk, which can be useful if your organization has a large catalogue it needs to upload.
How does this work?
Imports are achieved via the upload and processing of a comma-separated-values file (CSV) up to 5 megabytes in size.
Depending on the size of each line / product, this process will allow you to add up to 50,000 products in a single step.
This is usually sufficient for most organizations, however if your catalogue is larger, then you can split it over several CSV files.
Handling product data
ReturnPilot will process each record in the CSV file and will either accept it (and add it to your product catalogue), or it will reject it.
If you encounter rejections, then create a new CSV file containing them. Next, ensure that each line / product complies with the rules shown below. Finally, you should submit the new CSV file for processing.
Preparing your product data
In order for ReturnPilot to process the lines / products in your CSV file, each of them must be provided in the correct format.
Each line / product must have the following fields:
- SKU
- Description
- Category
- Price
- Length (size in inches)
- Width (size in inches)
- Height (size in inches)
- Weight (weight in pounds)
- Returnable (whether it may be returned)
These fields must then be formatted according to the following rules:
| Field | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| SKU | Text, 2 - 30 characters long, unique | 12345 |
| Description | Text, 2 - 50 characters long | Red Shirt |
| Category | Text, 2 - 30 characters long | Clothing |
| Price | Decimal, 1.00 - 999999999.99 | 55.21 |
| Length | Integer, between 4 - 50 | 7 |
| Width | Integer, between 4 - 50 | 13 |
| Height | Integer, between 1 - 50 | 2 |
| Weight | Integer, between 1 - 50 | 5 |
| Returnable | 1 (yes) or 0 (no) | 1 |
Further requirements
Finally, you should ensure that the following requirements are observed:
- There must not be a "header" line.
- There must not be any blank lines.
- Each of the fields must appear in the order shown above.
